(EN) Janaina is a children's book illustrator who was born in Brazil. Since a child, she was always chosen by friends to illustrate their work. Among her classmates, she was highlighted for her artistic ability. When she grew up Janaina studied Communication and Art Direction at Mackenzie University and worked for many years as a multimedia designer, however, working with children's book illustration has always been her dream.
Janaina went on to study illustration, painting and children's book illustration with Odilón Moraes and Fernando Villela. She specialised in Art Direction at Belas Artes São Paulo and majored in Art Direction for Children for her final work. In 2017, Janaina moved to the beautiful Colombian Caribbean city of Santa Marta, surrounded by mountains and sea, which inspires her every day. Living near the sea with her husband and young baby, has been a major impact on her work and has special meaning for her. Janaina aims to create work that connects with the heart of its audience - as her Master said: "An illustrator writes with images." Janaina has a passion for digital art, but studying painting helped her to improve her digital techniques. Her goal is to continue growing and bringing happiness and joy through her work and to work with great authors to deliver terrific children's books.
(PT) Janaina é uma ilustradora com foco em infantil. Desde criança, sempre foi escolhida por amigos para ilustrar seus trabalhos. Entre seus colegas, ela se destacou por sua habilidade artística. Quando cresceu Janaina estudou Comunicação e Direção de Arte na Universidade Mackenzie e trabalhou por muitos anos como designer multimídia, porém, trabalhar com ilustração de livros infantis sempre foi seu sonho. Janaina passou a estudar ilustração, pintura e ilustração de livros infantis com Odilón Moraes e Fernando Villela. Especializou-se em Direção de Arte na Belas Artes São Paulo onde concluiu o trabalho com um projeto para o público infanti. Em 2017, Janaina mudou-se para a bela cidade caribenha colombiana de Santa Marta, cercada por montanhas e mar, que a inspira todos os dias. Viver perto do mar com o marido e sua filha teve um grande impacto no seu trabalho e tem um significado especial para ela. Janaina tem como objetivo criar um trabalho que se conecte com o coração de seu público - como diste seu Mestre: "Um ilustrador escreve com imagens". Janaina é apaixonada por arte digital, mas estudar pintura a ajudou a aprimorar suas técnicas digitais. Seu objetivo é continuar crescendo e trazendo felicidade e alegria através de seu trabalho e trabalhar com autores incríveis para fazer excelentes livros.
